Douglas Fir
#1/BTR or select structural FOHC: Known for its strength and reliability, Douglas Fir is a trusted and proven material for timber frame construction. It offers excellent load carrying capacity and dimensional stability, making it well suited for structural applications. Western Red Cedar
C/BTR MG & #2/BTR appearance:Western Red Cedar is primarily used for its dimensional stability and natural durability in exterior applications. It is highly resistant to decay and performs well in changing weather conditions, making it a reliable choice for exterior timber frame elements, siding, and other exposed components.

Eastern White Pine
#1/BTR & #2/BTR: Eastern White Pine offers a good balance of quality and cost, making it a practical choice for timber frame construction. It is easy to work with, machines cleanly, and performs well in structural applications. Its consistent grain and light appearance make it well suited for exposed timber frame elements where value and workability are important.

Western Hemlock
#1/BTR & #2/BTR: Western Hemlock offers good strength and hardness, making it a sound choice for timber framing applications. Western Hemlock is well suited for beams, posts, and other timber frame components where strength, stability, and a clean appearance are important.

Alaskan Yellow Cedar
#2/BTR appearance: One of the hardest cedar species, Alaskan Yellow Cedar offers excellent strength and natural resistance to weather and decay. Its tight grain and dimensional stability make it well suited for demanding exterior applications as well as exposed timber frame elements. The wood machines cleanly and performs reliably in environments where durability and long-term performance are required.

White Oak/Red Oak
White and Red Oak Select Car Stock or Sound Square Edge: White and Red Oak are very strong and dense hardwoods, making them well suited for timber frame construction where strength and durability are critical. Their tight grain structure provides excellent wear resistance and long-term performance in structural applications. Available vacuum dried as a specialty offering, improving stability and reducing moisture related movement for precision timber framing.

Cypress
#1/BTR and #2/BTR: Found mostly in eastern North America, Cypress is known for its natural resistance to rot and its long term performance in exterior environments. Cypress machines well and remains stable in service, making it suitable for exposed structural members, siding, and other exterior components.

Port Orford Cedar

Eastern White Cedar

Glulam & CLT
Glued laminated timber allows for flexibility in species selection to suit the needs of each project. We work with Douglas Fir, SPF, Alaskan Yellow Cedar, and Southern Yellow Pine to produce high quality glulam for a wide range of structural applications. Glulam members offer excellent strength and can be manufactured in straight or curved forms. As an engineered wood product, glulam and CLT play an important role in sustainable construction by making efficient use of renewable timber resources.
